PACKING HEAT
As soon as we stepped in we grabbed up these two leather totes —this is where your life will reside while you’re out of town. Everything —but the kitchen sink — you could possibly need can be stashed here...go ahead, they can handle it. Bear in mind a large scarf can double as asarong or a blanket — pick one in a print or pattern.

PACKING HEAT

We took our retail therapy ambitions to our favourite boutiqueries to find the perfect season must-haves to pack for the long Easter weekend and Carnival finale. Here’s what made our packing checklist.

Doesn’t get simpler than thattank dress, now does it? Steerclear of the offending VPLs andplease remember Spanx are yourfriends. We had to have this onein technicolour (paging Josephand his ‘badmind’ brothers) anddon’t for a minute miss thechainlink detail and metallictassel ends of the waist-tie.
Watercolour-print on sleeveless top – yes, please! But don’t get carried away, leave theprint-on-print layering to the big boys. Pairwith a muted or solid neutral such as black ordark denim skinnies. Works everytime.
Crossbody bags and woven short-shorts will be perfect when you’reon the move.
Funky print caftans to wear ascover-ups for your two-pieces or maillots.
Popovers are an easy layering piece over your bikini top. Whenlazying out in the sun, add protection and style with a wide-brimstraw hat — this one has a sun protection factor of 50. A printscarf adds a pop of interest to your ensemble or accessories, depending on how you’d like to rock it. Just have fun with it.
Running errands in that sleepy seaside town before the fetes later that night? Opt for alight tie-front, sleeveless top, espadrilles to slip on before jumping on your bicycle or inyour car, wrapped textured bangles for a little wrist action, some straw sun protectionat the crown, and an arts and craftsy clutch to hold all the necessities when you get tothe checkout counter.
These jogger pants can take you from day to night with the simple change from flip-flops toballet flats or wedge-heeled espadrilles (leave the heels in the city, girls!). The ultra-versatility ofa large scarf can test the limits of creativity — in this case you could have a halter-top orstrapless tunic in no time. Again, once we’re in the sun you’ll need some brim coverage; this onewe found has a cowgirl-beachcomber vibe and the wrap-around bracelets are a perfect full stop.
