Sparkling water villas — A Taste Of Flippie Chic
The south coast is thankfully (and we’re clutching our pearls to boot), no longer backpack capital. Flippie-chic has crept into the lexicon and where to stay has got a whole lot more stylishly complex.
Eschew all thoughts of pomp and ceremony – it’s not that type of party – but thanks to pioneers like Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, Andrea and Axel Wichterich, Patrick Waldemar and Mutabaruka, to sprinkle a few names, there’s reason to pack with even more aplomb than you would for Mustique.
SO welcomes Sparkling Waters Villas to the list of places to stay. The compound, owned by the Azar family, comprises three villas and is a mere three hours from the city. Plan on doing absolutely nothing for the entire week save eat, drink, lounge and make use of the infinity pool with an adjoining Jacuzzi and a spacious, wooden deck below which overhangs the cliffs.
Opting for Villa du Soleil affords you two bedrooms, one bathroom and a double bed located on the large verandah which literally hangs over the sea. There is, too, the largest private pool in Treasure Beach. Thrown in for good measure is the Caribbean Sea, a flight of steps down from all three villas.
