A Visual Art FEAST
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) promised Flavourful Entertainment and Art Sweetened to Taste (FEAST) at the exhibition launch for its travelling visual arts showcase at Bloomfield Great House in Mandeville on April 12.
With the highest awarded JCDC visual arts competition pieces for 2013 on display, singer Tanice Morrison in performance, Lines Dance Institute performers gracing the stage, and a fashion show by textile students of Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts as part of the package, it was a promise kept.
The Mek It and Share It art-making activities gave guests further opportunities to enjoy the event as they were able to engage in making toys to be donated to the Child Development Agency (CDA) and distributed to State-run child care facilities.
Paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, ceramics and other works of amateur and professional Jamaican artists can be seen on exhibition at Bloomfield Great House until April 25.
Sponsors of the Exhibition and Travelling Showcase include the Tourism Enhancement Fund, Digicel, Urban Development Corporation and Bartley’s All in Wood.
