With headline acts Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons, in from Trinidad, high on its marquis, the annual Smirnoff Bacchanal Beach J’Ouvert kicked off, last Saturday, without a hitch as the Kingston exodus overtook James Bond Beach in Oracabessa, St Mary to continue the festive countdown to the big day, Bacchanal Road March. With title sponsors Smirnoff at the helm, patrons either took cover or surrendered to the onslaught of cascading acid-coloured paint as they rolled out their personalised dance choreography to the Carnival season’s latest musical offerings led by a gang of crowd-pleasing spinmasters from DJ Nuphoric and DJ Bambino to Richie RAS and DJ Smoke, among others. Saturday Social becomes a part of this moving canvas to bring you a selection of the guest list.
