Excelsior Community College principal Nadine Scott dies
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Dr Nadine Scott, principal of Excelsior Community College, and past president of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) died Sunday night.
Dr Scott served as JTA president for the period September 1999 to August 2000 and was the association’s sixth female president, the JTA said in a release Monday.
She was the third principal of the Excelsior Community College.
Before becoming principal of the college, Dr Scott lectured at the Institute of Education, University of the West Indies (UWI).
She also served as Principal Lecturer and Head of the Art Department at St Joseph’s Teachers’ College.
Dr Scott represented the JTA at many international conferences and was a member of the planning committee for Education International’s Higher Education Conference. Dr Scott also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Caribbean Union of Teachers, the JTA said.
