Van Gaal says no deal yet with Man U
THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal says he has not yet signed a deal to manage Manchester United next season and has other options open.
Van Gaal told Dutch media yesterday that he hasn’t made a decision about his future.
The 62-year-old Dutchman is stepping down as Netherlands coach after the World Cup and has been widely tipped to take over at Old Trafford from sacked David Moyes.
He tells Dutch website Nu.nl, “I have a few options. It’s a process we’re in and everybody has to wait patiently on my choice and that of the clubs.”
Van Gaal won the Champions League in 1995 with Ajax and has won domestic league titles in the Netherlands, Spain and Germany, the latter two as coach of Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
