Dexterity series rescheduled
THE opening round of the Drivers Rallysport Club’s (DRC) dexterity series set for Sunday has been rescheduled to Labour Day (May 23) at the Palisadoes International Raceway in Kingston.
“The event will start at midday so all can still participate in their Labour Day activities in the morning and still come out, race or spectate in the afternoon,” Wayne Piper, DRC president, told Auto.
Piper explained that an application to change the date of the dexterity season opener was made to prevent a clash with Mother’s Day, although the 2014 motorsports calendar had already been generated.
As this is their first full year as the body responsible for the rallysport disciplines, this event will not be a combination of two rounds as happened in 2013.
“I just have to thank sponsors CarMax, Leapro, and KFC for making the event possible. It will cost $500 at the gate,” said Piper.
The DRC will then kick off the National Sprint Championship on June 22 in Bog Walk, St Catherine.
