Man City paint England blue
Manchester City sealed their second Premier League title in three years after easing to a 2- 0 win over West Ham. City went into the last day of the season leading their rivals by two points and needing only a draw to be champions.
Samir Nasri and captain Vincent Kompany confirmed City’s title win with goals either side of the break to spark jubilant celebrations which later included a pitch invasion.
The happenings at the Etihad Stadium rendered second place Liverpool’s comeback 2-1 win against Newcastle academic, a match in which the Reds conceded their 50th goal of the season. Meanwhile at Carrow Road, Arsenal confirmed Norwich City’s relegation with a 2-0 win.

Real Madrid confirmed their inability to reclaim the Spanish Primera title after losing at Luis Enrique’s Celta Vigo 2-0. It was the third disappointing result for Los Blancos in a week and sees them crashing out of the league race.
Barcelona was also left frustrated by a 0-0 draw at Elche on Sunday. Barca was again not at their attacking best as their best chances came from set pieces. However, Malaga was not ready to gift Atletico Madrid their first league title in 18 years.
Malaga held Atletico Madrid 1-1 at the Vicente Calderon to set up a mouth-watering clash with Barcelona at Camp Nou next week.

Five months ago this fixture seemed destined to decide the Serie A champions but turned out to be a game of academic interest. Juventus loanee Pablo Dani Osvaldo finished off a dazzling counter attack four minutes into stoppage time against his old club to decide the game 1-0.

Bayern sign off with win
It has been a roller-coaster ride for the last month for Bayern Munich but ensured they ended their season with a 1-0 home win against Stuttgart. Peruvian Claudio Pizarro — whose contract is up — netted the only game in stoppage time to end his Bayern chapter on a high.
Bayer Leverkusen went from chasing Bayern Munich to battling for the last Champions League place this season.
They secured the latter on the last day of the season with a recovering 2-1 win over 12th place Werder Bremen.
