WITH six drivers tied in the championship points heading into this weekend’s Seaboard Marine Total Drift Invasion at Dover Raceway in St Ann, it will be the most consistent performer of the group that has the chance to break the deadlock.

Of the six, three are from Total Summerbell Racing (TSR) team, which includes 2013 Circuit racing champion Andre Anderson.

“My aim is to repeat last meet and win all the Modified Production Class 3 races,” Anderson told Auto.

The 2013 champion has not made any changes to his Mitsubishi Mirage to ensure victory. Teammate Kyle Gregg isn’t bullish on his chances in MP2.

“I was told Doug Gore will be racing in my class,” Gregg said.

Gore confirmed that he would be racing the Honda Civic Type R of Dean Corrodus at Dover, a car that has not been the match of Gregg’s lap-record- holding Civic in recent history.

“Last year I wouldn’t have worried because of the rules, but this year, given what I’ve had to do to comply to the regulations, it’s a viable threat,” Gregg said.

TSR’s leader David Summerbell Jr wants a similar consistency in pursuit of a personal goal — six race wins using one vehicle — and making all the modifications for his Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution to be reliable enough to take on the task.

With Gore’s car still in Barbados, the other of the big three, Peter Rae, is prepping to recover from his disastrous outing last event.

“I’ve got a new sponsor, Epping Oil Co, so we’ve been sorting out the Mazda,” Rae explained.

The stability continues with Natasha Chang. However, her focus is on ensuring she’s able to compete in the upcoming round of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) in Barbados.

“I’m all ready and will be going to Dover at full force, but I need to also be careful as the car will be off to Barbados two weeks after to participate in the CMRC,” she said.
