Foska’s Instant Hit

Foodie News

When thinking of a hearty, healthy Jamaican breakfast, there is no doubt that Foska Oats comes to mind. Manufactured by Caribbean Foods Limited and distributed by Chas E Ramson Limited, these sun-ripened rolled oats have been nourishing the nation for over 50 years.

Foska fans have had reason to smile since June 4, when Chas E Ramson rolled out its new product packed with nutritional needs: Foska Oatmeal Instant Porridge. Available in satisfying Original and delectable Banana, the Instant Porridge comes in a portable container, perfect for students on the go. A group of university students were among the first to sample Foska’s latest offering, enjoying it with boiling water, milk and honey. The resounding response? Not only was it a substantial meal but the flavourful spices were welcomed.

UWI Mona track and field star Marzel Miller declared that it was delicious.

“It was a bellyfull,” he said. “Very nutritious and healthy.”

“I’d have it every day for breakfast,” said Yerodan Richards, UWI Mona footballer, who also enjoyed the subtle cinnamon notes.

For Shashana Rickman, the Instant Porridge changed her mind about whole grains.

“I’m not an oats fan,” she said, “but I really like the spices in there; very flavourful.”

For hard-working students, a serving of Foska Oats is packed with various vitamins and minerals, providing fibre and energy to fuel their growing bodies and developing minds. So it comes as no surprise that the popular brand has chosen to give back to Jamaica through several education initiatives.

Caribbean Foods is the proud sponsor of an island-wide breakfast programme in primary schools and has most recently donated US $100, 000 to the University of the West Indies. Managing Director and Chairman of the company John C Ramson says he is committed to the good governance of the University and the improved opportunities it offers to young people.

With this addition to their line, Foska Oats and Caribbean Foods Limited continue nation building through the upliftment of fellow Jamaicans, the healthy way, one spoonful at a time.

Over 600 cases sold so far

Kathryn Silvera, Chas E Ramson advertising and marketing manager shared with Thursday Life that the company has to date sold over 600 cases of the Foska Oatmeal Instant Porridge and promises to have within the next two weeks full coverage islandwide.
