Konfydence goes Money Hunting
JAMAICA’S working-class has felt the pinch of a stagnant economy for many years. There are challenges singjay Konfydence can relate to, and she makes her case on her latest single, Money Hunting.
The song was inspired by “domestic issues” affecting thousands of Jamaicans.
“I want a better life for my family, a nice, comfortable life,” said Konfydence. “It’s not totally rough for us but everybody wants a little change.”
The fourth of five children, 22-year-old Konfydence began recording five years ago. Her previous songs include Some Bwoy a Bait and The Greatest Whine.
Released in February, Money Hunting is produced by Jimmy Ricks out of Mandeville.
Konfydence (real name Laxia Panton) was born in Rocky Point, Clarendon but grew up in nearby Lionel Town where she still lives.
In addition to recording, she has done the live show rounds in central Jamaica. Her latest gig is the Little Ochie Seafood Festival in Alligator Pond, St Elizabeth.
Konfydence is scheduled to perform on Dancehall Night of Reggae Sumfest next week.
