‘Vampire Diaries’ Persia White weds in Ocho Rios
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Former ‘Vampire Diaries’ co-star Persia White recently tied the knot in Ocho Rios, Jamaica with actor Joseph Morgan, who currently heads up ‘The Originals’.
The two stars said their vows on July 5 in a quaint ceremony in front of 26 guests at a private villa in the resort town.
“It had a very rustic feel to it,” White told People magazine in an interview. “There was nothing about it that was overwhelming or very huge or fabulous in that way. We tried to keep everything really intimate and beautiful and sort of going along with nature.”
It is not the first time the couple have been to Jamaica, as the two engaged close to where the ceremony was held.
“I think one of the reasons we picked it was because we love the ocean and we both grew up by the sea,” White said. “To be by the sea was wonderful. And the people of Jamaica are just wonderful.”
The highlight of the entertainment was the authentic musical experience provided by Jamaican music group Children of the Drums.
“It was six Jamaican drummers, and they got everybody up on the dance floor. At one point, all of our guests were on the dance floor, which is an achievement, I think,” said Morgan.
The couple parted ways with their guests and headed to their honeymoon in Negril where they went cliff jumping.
