Turbo Machine, Resolute release maiden tag giving trainers first win for the season
There were two occasions on Independence Day where horses released their maiden tags giving their trainers a first taste of victory for the 2014 season. Turbo Machine (Orlando Foster), after six tries finally found the winning post in front, but first had to withstand a late challenge from Starofthetown (Dushane Gordon) and Miss Dorothy, the mount of Romario Saunders going over 1,200 metres giving trainer Renex Burrell his first win from seven attempts.
While, trainer Lincoln Lungs first winner came when Resolute, ridden by Shane Ellis, came with a storming run on the inside to beat Bigman Ting (Jemar Jackson up) and Don Pepper Seed (Aaron Chatrie) going 1,100 metres.
Davidan Robinson continues to make strides
Apprentice rider Davidan Robinson is enjoying good form of late. In what can be described as late development, Robinson looks much more assured and confident in the saddle. Robinson’s latest winner, his 12th for the year came on Wednesday when he got the job done on the Michael McIntosh-trained Da Jackal. Your progress is pleasing.
