Police seize cocaine at airport, 3 Americans arrested
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police seized more than 7.4 pounds of cocaine and charged four persons with various breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act during a two-day operation at the island’s two major airports.
Among the four charged are three female American citizens, who were arrested on Friday, August 8 at the Norman Manley International Airport for possession of cocaine weighing a combined total of 2.72 kg (6 lbs).
They are 32-year-old Tamesha Filmore, 31-year-old Jennitta Robinson and 26-year-old Lory Filmore.
Tamesha Filmore and Jennitta Robinson are scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Criminal Court on Wednesday, August 13, while Lory Filmore is scheduled to appear on Friday, August 15 to answer to charges of possession of and dealing in cocaine and attempting to export cocaine.
The fourth person – 26-year-old Dominic Brissett of Cornwall Court, St James – was arrested at the Sangster International Airport on Saturday, August 9, after he was found with 0.64 kg (1.4 lbs) of cocaine on his person.
He is scheduled to appear in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate Court on Thursday, August 14 where he too will answer to charges of possession of and dealing in cocaine and attempting to export cocaine.
