Savannah’s health fair
MAY PEN, Clarendon — Residents of Savannah came out in their numbers to take advantage of services offered free of cost at a health and information fair organised by Jamalco.
A news release said 94 residents had their blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, weight, and waist/hip ratio checked by a team of nurses and emergency medical technicians.
Savannah residents also had opportunies for one on one sessions with representatives from the National Insurance Scheme, Social Development Commission, Clarendon Health Department and Alacta Plus
Senior citizen Miriam Gangadas said she was unaware of how badly her sight had deteriorated until she attended the health fair.
For single, unemployed mother of seven, Clover Walters, it was “very helpful because my daughter is very sickly, but I really do not have the money to take her to the doctor…”
Pastor of Hayes New Testament Church of God, Reverend Coleridge Minto said his church was very grateful for the opportunity to partner with Jamalco in hosting the health fair.
