‘Golding’ Girl
It’s been a year since we met the leggy Tasmin Golding at the luxe Corinthia Hotel, London during Fashion Week. She was at that time in serious Fine Art Painting mode at the University of the Arts Wimbledon College but blessed with great genes and an enviable height of 5’11”, it was hard not to cast a furtive glance at the runway. No surprise really that she was bitten by the fashion bug and made the finals of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model. “It was an experience,” she tells SO, “that took me completely out of my comfort zone and quickly changed my life forever… I travelled all over the world from NYC to Dubai working on shoots, walked quite a few catwalks and met many influential people in the industry.”
Thankfully the glitz and glamour did not derail her studies. “Studies first!” she said with a chuckle – there really is nothing like a good old Jamaican upbringing. Her first degree now complete, the enterprising woman who spent the summer working as an intern at a fashion PR company in London in-between trips to Greece, NYC, St Tropez and Cannes for the film festival is home, albeit temporarily.
What’s next for the young lady who hopes to continue modelling and has dreams of becoming the face of Victoria’s Secret?
“I’ve just received an acceptance letter for a specialist course at the Inchbald Institute for Interior Design in London.”
We reckon like us you’ll patiently await the next chapter.
