‘T Boots’ funeral for Aug 30
Funeral for the late Trevor ‘T Boots’ Harris — veteran music journalist, publisher and newspaper columnist — will be held at the First Baptist Church, 28 Sandringham Avenue in St Andrew, on Saturday, August 30.
‘T Boots’, as he was widely known, would have celebrated his 70th birthday on October 9. His son, Kahlil, said he had big plans for his upcoming birthday.
“He was looking forward to it, and had plans for all of his kids to come to Jamaica and hang with him,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
Kahlil said his father was never ill, therefore, his death came as a total shock.
“We are still in disbelief. He had multiple meetings with advertisers about his radio show. He met with Bongo Herman earlier and had several more meetings lined up [for that day],” said Kahlil.
Kahlil, principal of Monumental Partners Limited — a marketing/public relations company — he has opted to stay in Jamaica, instead of the United States where he was schooled and lived.
“I always believed that I should be beside him,” he said.
An autopsy is expected on Monday.
‘T Boots’ collapsed after leaving a bus in Half-Way-Tree last Saturday. He is survived five children.
