Masania Moore for sure!
IT was the passing of the torch as Sue Ann Gordon, who won the inaugural the Miss Skunk Nation contest in 2013, sashed the 2014 winner Masania Moore at Saturday’s Import Tuner Night: Street Tuner Invasion at the National Arena Parking Lot, St Andrew.
“I’m so happy I’m speechless right now. This is my first time winning something like this,” Moore told Auto.
The tall, toned, buxom twenty-two year old student and part-time promotional model was a crowd favourite from the start finding herself whittled down to the top five and then crowned the eventual winner at the end of the night.
“I wish her all the best during her reign as Miss Skunk Nation 2014 and I hope she enjoys this wonderful experience while continuing to display her vibrant personality,” Gordon said about her successor.
Along with her title Moore took home a prize package that included $30,000 in cash, a Samsung Galaxy S4 with $1000 in credit from Digicel, a gift basket, Signature perfume, swimwear courtesy of WETswim and vouchers from Dominoes Pizza.
First and second runner-ups were Stacy-Ann McCalla and Krystina Black respectively. McCalla received $20,000 with her package while Black got $10,000 with hers. Black also won Best Legs. Best smile went to Rochelle Hendricks.
“I really wanted to win, so I worked out some extra and did a little research on Skunk Nation,” Moore said.
Moore felt it was her physique, knowledge and the fact that she made a good first impression on the judges and audience that led to her victory. Winning for Best Personality backed up her impressions. She will now take on Gordon’s ambassadorial role and is looking forward to learning more about cars and attending future Skunk Nation events.
“I think winning Miss Skunk Nation will open doors for me,” she said.
According to Nick Lue, co-founder of organisers — Skunk Nation, the popular Moore could be the highlight of a potential upcoming calendar.
