Wexford Hotel for sale; priced at US$12.5m
COLDWELL Banker aims to sell the Wexford Hotel in Montego Bay for US$12.5 million ($1.4 billion).
It currently represents the most expensive hotel listing online by the realty firm.
“It’s been on the market for under a year by us,” said Andrew Issa, broker and managing director at Coldwell.
He declined to say more about prospects, referring the Observer to Wexford chairman Carlyle Allen, who did not return calls up to print.
The hotel located on Gloucester Avenue includes 82 rooms — 21 of which have a view of the ocean.
Wexford was built in 1977 and it quickly became a landmark along Montego Bay’s traditional marquee street. In order to maintain its relevance, the property was recently renovated adding contemporary flair and décor.
“The Wexford is located on the hip strip in the centre of shopping and dining, walking distance to the famous Doctor’s Cave Beach and minutes from the airport,” reads a description written on Coldwell’s website. “Ocean views and sunsets are a daily backdrop.”
