Analyse Parchment
“I actually ran up and down in my house and then I ran to my cousin’s house to tell her about it,” 17-year-old Analyse Parchment beamed as she remembered the fateful results night.
“I was feeling relieved and accomplished. I felt like I was the best person in this world. At the moment I saw my grades no one could do anything to spoil my day. I wanted all ones but I am still grateful for the grades I received and I felt satisfied that my hard work had finally paid off.”
This reaction was an appropriate one as the Holy Childhood High School student scored seven ones in biology, electronic document preparation and management, English language, mathematics, principles of accounts, principles of business, and social studies, a two in chemistry and a three in French.
Although the aspiring pharmacist and entrepreneur can now beam at her success, her journey was not an easy one.
“I had a few times when my parents could only afford to give me bus fare for school,” Parchment confided. “I also [had to] take lunch to school with me everyday [yet] I was very determined not to be a failure! I have a desire, a growing need to uplift my family because not many before me in my family were successful. I aim to achieve the best at all times and if I should fall short, it won’t be a very far distance from my best.”
She ended with her philosophy, which she hopes can successfully encourage others as it did her.
“Life’s trails will take you nowhere if your focus is on others,” she quoted. “Being focused, being true to yourself, others and your God, will pitch you on the summit of life.”
