Benji builds hype for Geet Weh

FOLLOWING enthusiastic response to first-quarter songs Google Bad Mind and Rave Every Day, deejay Benji Hype is hoping for even bigger things for Geet Weh, his latest single.

Produced by College Boyz, Geet Weh was recently released. Based on reaction when he performed it at a street dance in St Elizabeth last weekend, Benji Hype is confident he has a hit on his hands.

“The feedback was great, the people love the song and it was jus’ crazy vibes in St Elizabeth. Right now, we are working on getting the video done this weekend,” he told this column.

Benji Hype, who lives in New York, is originally from Manchester. He got his start on talent shows but stepped up his game when he migrated to the United States as a teenager.

He made his professional recording debut in 2011 with the song Brands of All Brands, produced by House of Stars label. Since then he has worked with a list of top producers including Truck Back Records, College Boyz and Dre Day Records.

He got a boost recently by appearing on the influential urban radio station Hot 97 with disc jockey/selectors Bobby Konders and Jabba.

‘The interview was done over the Labour Day weekend and it’s a real good look for my career. The interview has helped in a major way because it provided the platform for persons from a different demographic to hear my music,” he said.
