Hair looking fab – Now onto the face

Under The Dryer: GET THE LOOK

Salon Phoenix’s on-request make-up artist Shadeen James shows us how.

Ka-el Clarke, marketing consultant at Triple Century Sports

Face

1. Prime face with Embryolisse Hydra-Mat Emulsion

2. Buff Mary Kay Foundation in Bronze 2 using a flat-top brush or a Beauty Blender.

3. Set face with Ben Nye Natural set for oil control.

4. Powder face with IMAN Oil-Blotting Powder in Light Medium.

Cheeks

1. Use Ben Nye Banana Powder to highlight under the eyes.

2. Contour cheeks using MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Deep Dark.

3. Highlight cheekbones with MAC Iridescent Powder in Golden Bronze.

4. Use MAC Ambering Rose as a blush for a flush of colour.

Eyes

1. Fill in brows using MAC Brow Pencil in Stud.

2. Prime the eyelids with Urban Decay Primer Potion to prevent creasing.

3. Use MAC “Saddle” eye shadow to contour the crease and MAC “Ricepaper” to highlight the brow bone. Use “Half Baked” from Urban Decay’s Naked 1 Palette.

4. Line the waterline with MAC Pro Longwear Eye Liner in Definedly Black.

5. Coat lashes using L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black.

Lips

1. Moisturise lips using Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm.

2. Line lips with MAC Currant Lip Liner.

3. Fill in lips using MAC Retro Matte “Flat out Fabulous” Lipstick.

3. Highlight cheekbones with MAC Iridescent Powder in Golden Bronze.

4. Use MAC Ambering Rose as a blush for a flush of colour.

Eyes

3. Use MAC “Ricepaper” to highlight the brow bone and MAC “Vanilla” eye shadow on the lid and MAC “Espresso” to contour the crease.

4. Line the waterline with MAC Pro Longwear Eye Liner in Definedly Black.

5. Coat lashes using L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black.

Lips

1. Moisturise lips using Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm.

2. Line lips with MAC Currant Lip Liner.

3. Fill in lips using MAC Matte “Diva” Lipstick

2. Buff Mary Kay Foundation in Bronze 3 using a flat-top Brush or a Beauty Blender.

3. Set face with Ben Nye Natural set for oil control.

4. Powder face with IMAN Oil-Blotting Powder in Light Medium.

Cheeks

1. Use Ben Nye Banana Powder to highlight under the eyes.

2. Contour cheeks using Covergirl Bronzer in Ebony Bronze.

3. Highlight cheekbones with Revlon ColorStay Mineral Finishing Powder in Sunkiss Radieux.

Eyes

1. Fill in brows using MAC Brow Pencil in Stud.

2. Prime the eyelids with Urban Decay Primer Potion to prevent creasing.

3. Use ‘Barlist” on the lid and “Backdoor” in the crease and “Freestyle” to highlight the brow bone from Urban Decay’s Smoked Palette.

4. Line the waterline with MAC Pro Longwear Eye Liner in Definedly Black.

5. Coat lashes using L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black.

Lips

1. Moisturise lips using Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm.

2. Line lips with MAC Cherry Lip Liner.

3. Fill lips in with MAC Retro Matte Ruby Woo.
