JCA All-Island Limited-Overs cricket continues today

The Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) All-Island Limited-Overs competition rolls on this weekend with the second round of matches today.

In Zone A, Hanover CA meet Trelawny CA at the Elgin Town Community Centre, while at the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium, St James CA battle St Elizabeth.

In Zone B, Manchester CA host St Catherine CA at the Manchester High playing field, while Kingston & St Andrew CA welcome GC Foster to Maxfield Park.

In another Zone B encounter, St Catherine CC and visitors Clarendon CA clash at Chedwin Park.

Police Sports Club entertain St Ann CA at their facility on Elletson Road in a Zone C clash, while in other games in the zone, Portland CA are set to host parish neighbours St Mary CA at the Folly Oval.

In Zone D, Kingston CC travel to Nelson Oval in east Kingston to face Lucas CC, while St Thomas CA host Boys’ Town CC at the Goodyear Oval.

In a set of rescheduled clashes to be played tomorrow, University of the West Indies welcome Jamaica Defence Force to the Mona Campus in Zone C, and Melbourne CC and Kensington CC will meet at the Melbourne Oval in Zone D.

The first-round rescheduled fixture between Zone D teams Boys’ Town CC and Kingston CC, set for Collie Smith Drive, will also be played tomorrow.

Games on both days are slated to commence at 9:00 am. The top two teams from each zone at the end of the preliminary stage will advance to the quarter-finals on October 18.

The semi-finals are scheduled a week later on October 25, while the championship game is set for November 1.

In results from last week’s first round, Westmoreland CA lost by five wickets to St James at Little London High.

Scores: Westmoreland 136 (26 overs); St James 138-5 (21.1 overs).

At the Multi-purpose complex, hosts Trelawny brushed aside St Elizabeth by eight wickets.

Scores: St Elizabeth 65 (25.1 overs); Trelawny 66-2 (24.2 overs).

At Maxfield Park, hosts Kingston & St Andrew lost by 104 runs to Manchester.

Scores: Manchester 253 (44 overs); Kingston & St Andrew 149 (29 overs).

At the GC Foster College playing field, St Catherine CC defeated GC Foster by four wickets.

Scores: GC Foster 115 (37.3 overs); St Catherine CC 116-6 (34.5).

At the Jamalco field, Clarendon edged St Catherine CA by eight runs.

Scores: Clarendon 128 (33 overs); St Catherine CA 120 (32.2 overs).

Jamaica Defence Force pounded Police by 97 runs in the battle of the security forces at Up Park Camp.

Scores: JDF 340-8 (50 overs); Police 243 (48.4 overs).

At Noranda Bauxite in Discovery Bay, Domaine Wilson hit an unbeaten 144 to help visitors St Mary to a seven-wicket victory over St Ann.

Scores: St Ann 250 (47.3 overs); St Mary 252-3 (41.3 overs).

National middle-order batsman Andre McCarthy struck 116 to push Melbourne to a comfortable 101-run win over St Thomas at Goodyear Oval.

Scores: Melbourne 249 (46.4 overs); St Thomas 148 (36.3 overs).

Hosts Kensington beat neighbours Lucas by eight wickets at Kensington Park.

Scores: Lucas 108 (37 overs); Kensington 109-2 (16.5 overs).
