Police to have clean-up day tomorrow
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) will tomorrow begin a clean-up campaign at all its headquarters, divisions, areas, formations and branches across the island.
This clean-up campaign according to a release from the police is geared at improving the awareness of staff, minimizing the risk of transmission of the Chik-V virus and empowering individuals to employ proper hygiene and preventative measures.
The police release stated: “The welfare of members working and living on police compounds is of utmost importance, likewise, the safety of prisoners in custody. As such, special emphasis will be placed on barrack areas and lockups. Members of the Police High Command participating in the activities and will be visiting police divisions and formations. The initiative will feature compound cleanup, removal of garbage and breeding sites of mosquitoes, public sensitization and the engagement of local stakeholders, to include local health officials from the Public Health Department.
