THE movie Jamaican Mafia will make its local debut in December.

Filmed in New York last year, the movie stars Paul Campbell, whose credits include Dancehall Queen and Third World Cop.

“We will be doing a one-time screening at the Carib Theatre in Kingston on December 4 and another in Montego Bay on December 7,” said Mykal Fax, Jamaica-born screen writer and actor in the film.

He said he was overjoyed that the movie would be shown in Jamaica.

“I’m representing Jamaica to the fullest. Pleasing the grass-root people in Jamaica is definitely one of my ultimate goals,” said the 30-year-old.

Jamaican Mafia was premiered in New York on September 18 and Fax said the response has been overwhelming.

“They’re literally enjoying every second of it. Jamaican Mafia is an emotional roller-coaster, the viewers are frightened at one point, laughing, crying and cheering,” he said.

Born in Kingston, Fax migrated to the United States in late 1990s. He said he is in search of a global distribution deal.

“I’m seeking distribution from the likes of Universal, Warner Bros, or a Lionsgate at this point.”
