What type of learner are YOU?
YOU really should have begun ages ago, but if you have been devoted to reading over, now is the right time to really start.
With finals just around the corner and for those doing CSEC, May might seem very far away but it really is not.
Studying is not hard, as others make it out to be, try simple things that work for you and even if you join a study group, make sure they cater to your learning style.
Not sure what your learning style is? Check this list to see which one best describes you:
1 If you like to see things, if you have a photographic memory then you definitely are a VISUAL Learner. Concept maps and charts and pictures are the easiest way for you to remember things. Also, you can draw simple diagrams on paper to remember the steps as you study.
2 If you remember things most when you hear them, then you are an AUDITORY learner. You will benefit from lectures and any learning material that is auditory. You can record your notes in the same way you would record a voice note and replay them from time to time.
3 So you like to do things? If this is so, you are a KINESTHETIC learner who will benefit from role plays and making models and so forth. As lame as a role play might seem at times, it will assist you if you incorporate it into studying. You can do so while hanging out with friend or even in the mirror or while doing other tasks.
4 And finally, if researching information and reading it makes it stick for you, then you are a COGNITIVE learner. Ensure you read your notes with a very focused mindset that the material will stay with you.
All the best on exams this year. It is better to put in the time and study from early than to not study and be worried about your results.
No time like the present to begin!
