‘Lala Pink’ aims to make mark
DANCEHALL singjay Lala Pink Doll is anticipating that her latest single Relationships will make inroads locally. The recently released track is produced by Futristic Era Riddim.
“People have been walking up to me daily telling me how much the love the song, Relationships. I know in myself that a lot of people will like this song because of what it speaks about and the fact that the song is so relatable,” she said.
Lala Pink Doll (given name Latrar Scott) is based the United States.
However, last year she was one of the 10 finalists in the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall competition. The singjay, formerly Miss Platinum, feels the experience gave her an the exposure she needed.
“Performing to my audience, with the support of friends and new found fans gave me the validation that music was indeed my destiny.
It was a thrilling moment for me and I thank God everyday for that wonderful opportunity to showcase my talent,” she said. She said her inspiration is diverse like her music.
“I have always been a fan of soulful, powerful music. As a matter of fact, that is what I grew up listening to … Diana King, Lady Saw, Patra, Mc Lyte and Monie Love are some of my earlier inspirations.
It is from that eclectic mix of music that I found my authenticity,” she said. “No doubt about it Lala Pink is a name that you are going to hear bout more and more. Mi nah stop promote myself so world, just listen out for more things to come from me.”
