Peppa Sundayz, a hit among the hip
SINCE its November 2 launch, Peppa Sundayz is gaining momentum as the hottest event to emerge on the weekly dancehall entertainment calendar.
Peppa Sundayz is held at D’Amor, formerly Weekenz at 80 Constant Spring Road in St Andrew.
According to Mario ‘Mario C’ Campbell, producer and member of 3rd Dimension, Peppa Sundayz was conceptualised to create an entertaining and enjoyable atmosphere where patrons can enjoy hardcore dancehall vibes.
“The idea behind Peppa Movements was to form a group that collectively would be a high quality entertainment brand. We currently have 10 members working in total harmony to accomplish one mission and that’s to provide entertainment that will always be hot like ‘Peppa’,” said Campbell.
The other members of Peppa Movements are Foota Hype, Boom Boom, Six Killa from Portmore, Hotta Rice from Kingston 13, Copper Cutty from Copper shot disco, Jigsy from Danger Zone, Bishop Escobar from Team Shella, Harry Hype and Bredda from Lovers Choice.
“The venue is centrally located and very popular among party goers from all walks of life. We also chose the location because the ambience of this particular venue is a cut above the rest and it creates the perfect environment for our patrons to feel safe and comfortable,” Campbell continued.
According to Foota Hype, the event isn’t about filling a void.
“I wouldn’t say that it is filling a void but there was no weekly event like Peppa Sundayz in which working class and college students could attend and experience the authentic dancehall vibe without cutting into their valuable sleep time. This event ends at 12 midnight which gives our patrons time to get ample rest and feel fresh for work or school the next day,” he said.
