We want it all!
Jamaica’s senior netball team captain Nicole Aiken-Pinnock has declared that the Sunshine Girls is going into the three-test series against arch-rival England with one thing in mind — to win the series.
Both teams are set to square off in a three-test series scheduled for January 10, 11 and 13 at the National Indoor Sports Centre (NISC) in Kingston.
“The team is very upbeat and looking forward to the clash as we want to come out on top and that is our aim to win the series. Our plan is to be positive and play our natural game. They are a very good team and so are we,” the 29-year-old Aiken-Pinnock, who stands at six feet and two inches, told the Jamaica Observer.
Aiken-Pinnock knows very well that success will only come with hard work.
“In order for us to beat a team like England, we have to be well prepared and well focused. It is going to take a lot of hard word and dedication and that is what the team is committed to right now. Hard work, dedication and playing as a team will put us on top,” she said.
She also said they are physically and mentally ready for the English test.
“The preparation building up to this series has been going well. As a team we are playing better, we are more focused and we are enjoying ourselves. I know that they will be coming hard against us but we are ready,” she said.
