FROM THE HORSE’S MOUTH – CHANGE OF EQUIPMENT AGAIN
The Anthony Nunes-trained Wright Away continued the trend of trainers making a change of equipment that has led to success. Wright Away returned on Saturday with the tongue tie and the result was a two-length victory against native-bred four-year-olds and upward non-winners of two going over six furlongs. Nunes made the change after the dark bay colt’s encouraging runs on his last two outings finishing third on both occasions at this level. The winning time was 1:16:4 minutes.
TWO HORSES CLAIMED ON SATURDAY
Only two horses were claimed on the nine-race programme at Caymanas Park last Saturday. Jessie James, who romped the third race was claimed from Tensang Chung by Anthony Nunes for owner Stephan Narinesingh for $350,000 and the Ryan Darby-trained Cold Ground was taken by Albert Chong on behalf of owner Stafford Subratie also for $350,000.

RIO COBRE GETTING THERE
As expected, the down-in-class American-bred Rio Cobre was a winner at the Overnight Allowance company that involved three-year-olds and upward going over the distance of 1,100 metres at Caymanas Park last Saturday. Ridden by Shamaree Muir for trainer Wayne DaCosta and owners Elizabeth DaCosta and Derrick Smith, Rio Cobre (Chelsey’s Cat – Chelsey’s Finest) tracked the leaders before he drew alongside Sunlight Express (Orlando Foster) turning for home and after a superb stretch run, the seven-year-old bark bay brown gelding got his head in front on the wire. The winning time was a quick 1:06:0 minutes.
