FROME, Westmoreland — Reno FC snapped their nine-game winless skid on Sunday after beating fellow strugglers Boy’s Town 1-0 in their second-round Red Stripe Premier League game at the Frome Sports Complex.
Craig Foster extended his league-leading goal tally to 14 when he scored in the eighth minute of the game to give Wendell Downswell his first win since taking over the coaching duties from Patrick Graham.
Despite the win, Reno FC are still in the relegation zone on 18 points, but moved up a point closer to Boys’ Town, who are in 10th place.
Reno’s previous win came on November 9 last year when they beat Cavalier SC by a similar score at Frome.
Since then, the former champions earned a single point in a 2-2 draw against Harbour View at the St Elizabeth Technical Sports Complex and have been outscored 20-7 and have been shut out on four occasions.
