Spanish-based design company Estudimoline created the Bios Urn to transform your loved one from this life to the other through nature. Bios Urn is a an eco-friendly, fully biodegradable urn which contains a tree seed. Inside the Bios Urn: the top capsule is built to facilitate the growth of the seed – separated from the ashes. Before burying the urn you have to mix the components with some soil from where you want to plant the urn – to facilitate proper germination. When the urn starts to biodegrade the root from the seeds would already be advanced enough to sprout on the ashes and develop into a tree. As the process of biodegradation takes place the urn and its contents merge into the sub-soil. The biodegrading urn acts as fertiliser; literally growing a living memorial to your loved one.
