Up! Up! & Up!

Up! Up! & Up!

It’s difficult to imagine how Rock-born Jeneil Williams, the stunning blue-black supermodel attached to IMG models and discovered by Pulse International, can possibly top the L’Oréal campaign ad in which she’s currently featured. For Williams, however, it’s just the beginning…she wants more.

SO catches up with Jeneil Williams, late Friday evening. She’s in chill mode, having just finished a yoga session and is all laughs as she informs of the many congratulatory messages, the result of her sharing the L’Oréal video.

“I’m still pinching myself,” she says. “I am not signed to them but plan on doing a lot more work with them.” Indeed, there’s a soon-to-follow lipgloss ad which, according to our supermodel, “looks amazing”.

Her recollection of the L’Oréal shoot underscores that sound country upbringing sprinkled with humility. Our girl is thankfully cognisant that she’s still on that journey to success and that being jetted to Paris for a 48-hour shoot requires stamina, humility and charm in abundance. The glamour comes after the editing when “I got the call from my agency, was on the plane and was in front of the camera the very next day. The shoot was all day into the next and, as you can see from the commercial, there were several roles”.

Staying at her favourite hotel, Millennium Hotel Paris Opéra provided sufficient consolation, however. “It’s where I’m comfortable as I know the neighbourhood.” If further convincing is required that life as an in-demand model is one big blur, just ask Williams the shoot date/s. “I think it was December 13… no, possibly the 12th…”

That aside, the shoot was a success, as can be seen in the accompanying visuals.

What’s next for the hard-working beauty? ” I’m going back to school and taking acting on full-time… I want to be a great actress. And, yes, I am also working on finally getting my wellness book out.”

We catch up a week later and Williams is in the throes of packing. There’s not much time for convo; she’s Jamaica-bound and is thrilled to be coming home for some well-deserved R&R and to reconnect with family.

There’s also business to attend to:

A press reception by Pulse to welcome her home and to announce that the three-time Vogue CoverGirl will host the Caribbean Model Search reality TV show and will be the face of Pulse’s 35th anniversary celebrations.
