Cops collar robbery suspects, recover guns in Mandeville
MANDEVILLE, Manchester – Six men suspected of a series of robberies and other serious crimes in Mandeville and surrounding areas were taken into custody and two guns seized by the police early Tuesday morning.
Police say about 12:20 am Tuesday, two cars with the men aboard were intercepted on the Winston Jones Highway. The two guns, a Ruger pistol and a Smith & Wesson semi-automatic pistol, were found in the cars.
Police say the men (names withheld), who are all from the Greenvale area just outside Mandeville, will definitely be charged for illegal firearm possession. In the meantime, they will be required to face identification parades in relation to other crimes.
