Boscobel, Jack’s River clash in St Mary T20 Big Bash
THE St Mary Cricket Association Maurice Clarke Big Bash T20 Competition heats up tomorrow with defending champions Boscobel clashing with high-riding Jack’s River in the feature encounter at Boscobel Oval.
Boscobel will be hoping that top batsman and the competition’s leading run-getter Alwyn Williams can maintain his punishing form. He will be assisted by Domain Wilson, Robert Ware, Herman Henry and Randain Bennett.
Jack’s River have been in good form of late, with batsmen Christopher Green and Orane Farr in fine form, while Tyrone Daley and Christopher Green taking wickets regularly.
In the day’s other match at Boscobel Oval, Three Hills are expected to chalk up their first win of the competition against lowly Oxford, who have been finding the going tough so far in the competition.
Oxford will be relying on batsmen Timone Haye, Emile Thomas and Fitzroy Howell and bowler Akeem McCalla to spring an upset. Three Hills are banking on star batsmen Eugene Hudson and Jesse Staple to rattle up a sizeable total.
Over at Day’s Mountain, the home team will engage in a keen tussle with Sandals/Beaches Ocho Rios, with the latter been struck with a recent rich vein of form. Andre Baker and Maurice Henry are the leading players for the home team, while the hotel men possess batting firepower from the likes of skipper Jesse Alexander, Nicholas Williams, Michael Downer and Adrian White, while bowlers Kagil Earle and Delroy Patterson are capable of inflicting damage with the ball.
In the opening match scheduled for Day’s Mountain Oval, Top End and Port Maria will do battle in what could turn out to be a key encounter. Port Maria have been the top team in the competition so far and are paced by national wicketkeeper-batsman Aldane ‘Zoom’ Thomas, Richard Creary and Fitzroy Nelson.
Top End will bank on Jermaine Chisholm, Anthony Walters, Nicoy Simms, Damion Silvera, Geron Irons, Kemar Henry, Donovan Bartley and Courtney Whyte to lead them to a big upset.
In Zone Two at Galina Oval, Police will clash with Wilderness and Galina go up against Mango Valley. Galina will be looking to Romaine Gordon , Melvin Espeut and Garfield Thompson, while Mango Valley possess the dangerous S Whitehorne.
Wilderness are paced by Renar Ross, Andrew Bryce and T Creary, while Police will be hoping Mickail Downer, Christopher Faulknor and Renford Pinnock Jnr can maintain their fine form.
Trinity Land and White Hall will tussle in the day’s other match with Damion Graham and Benjamin White leading Trinity Land’s charge. Kevin Gray is the mainstay of the White Hall team.
