Portmore’s latest ‘Buzz’
RESIDENTS of the dormitory community of Portmore in St Catherine now have a new family-friendly entertainment option in the form of Buzzers, a sports lounge.
Located at the TJ Building in Naggo Head, Buzzers opened its doors to the public last Wednesday.
“It’s taken one year to bring this business to fruition,” Tyrone Williams, marketing director, Buzzers, told the Jamaica Observer.
The facility occupies the lower floor of TJ Building, better known as the home to Famous Night Club. A separate entity, it is split into several key sections to better service its expected target market. The main draw of Buzzers is an arcade, offering an exciting mix of video games for the young and old. For even more variety, there is lounge seating equipped with screens for either Xbox or PlayStation gaming console action. Hard-core gamers can rent private time by the hour in The Vault, with its big-screen TV, multiple gaming systems and living room-like atmosphere. For those seeking some more interactivity, Buzzers boasts Jamaica’s first and only 5-D Cinema Simulators, two fixed to the location and a mobile unit.
While children are having fun, older patrons can take advantage of the End ZZone. Billed a premium sports lounge, it packs a bar, plenty of seating and screens to watch sports on.
“Portmore needs more businesses like this, a place to take the kids and the whole family. And we welcome Buzzers to Portmore,” said acting mayor of Portmore, Councillor Leon Thomas.
