MBCCI elects second female president
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Gloria Henry, assistant vice-president of operations and customer relations of the Montego Bay Free Zone, on Wednesday became the second woman to lead the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI).
She was elevated to the presidency following a unanimous vote at the chamber’s annual general meeting at Wexford Hotel. The first woman to lead the chamber was Pauline Reid.
Henry — who served as second vice-president during the last term — replaces prominent Montego Bay lawyer Nathan Robb, whom she unsuccessfully challenged for the post last year. Robb served in the post for two consecutive terms.
Sonia Clarke Bowen, who was elected unopposed, is to serve as first vice-president while Leroy Reid and Brian Brown were voted second vice-president and third vice president, respectively.
