VOWS – And… Action!

Director, playwright and part-time drama educator at the American International School of Kingston Peter Abrikian married development specialist Katherine Chen in an elegant ceremony at the Sunken Gardens of Hope Gardens on Saturday, April 18 with family and friends looking on.

Officiated by Reverend Dr Paul Sorrentino and Gordon Russell, the late-afternoon nuptials saw the groom — in a Spencer’s Tailoring-bought powder blue suit — making his way to the altar, hand in hand with his parents David and Janilee Abrikian. Meanwhile, the bride, her braided hair styled into an updo, made a head-turning entrance to the grass-carpeted venue in a traditional Chinese cheongsam wedding dress, on the arm of her parents Bobby Chen and Claudia Walter Chen.

Supporting the couple as they stood before Reverend Sorrentino was best man Douglas Harrisingh and groomsman Michael Cuffe, maid of honour Jo-Anderson-Figueroa and bridesmaid Rachel Chen.

Declarations of love made, and wedding bands exchanged, the couple was then formally introduced as the Abrikians.

The reception followed in the Sunken Gardens with a Débé-Ann Chen-catered dinner of bourbon chicken, suckling pig, grilled tenderloin and spicy garlic shrimp and mussels.
