Clothes Call
Fifteen years in, and the fashionable circus served up at the Pulse Investments-fronted Caribbean FashionWeek (CFW) at the National Indoor Sports Centre last weekend hit creative peaks (we’re looking at you Cedella and Karen Marley, Mark Eastman and Krystel Markos) and lows (an uninspired yawn fest of the basics by many designers on show).
The three-day run at the converted Sports Centre saw a roster of designers spanning the region and further afield, with Haiti, Martinique, St Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, United Kingdom, and of course, Jamaica sending collections down the runway.
A union of music and fashion, this year’s iteration of CFW featured a collective of American R&B (Empire star V Bozeman), British pop (Billy Ocean), and homegrown reggae (Christopher Martin) with a dash of stand-up comedy compliments of Rushaine ‘Dutty’ Berry.
SO takes the runway.
