Horses ready for the St Leger – Harry Parsard
VETERAN trainer Harry Parsard said that his charges Original Train and Superluminal will once again have an impact on another ‘big race’, this time the St Leger, scheduled for next week Saturday over 2,000 metres.
Parsard said that his charges are training well and will be around at the end of the St Leger as distance has never been a problem for his two three-year-olds.
“Both Original Train and Superluminal have been training well. They are moving nicely in the mornings and have done everything that has been asked of them.
“They are as fit as they will ever be, and I am really looking for both of them, Original Train and Superluminal, to really run well and earn well for the stables,” Parsard told the Complete Racing Guide.
“I am really expecting outstanding performances from Superluminal and Original Train, the latter being a slow starter, but for sure he will come running on when it matters most,” he said.
He also said that he was happy with the performances of his charges in the Derby.
“Finishing fourth and fifth in the Derby, while not the best achievement possible, is still something which I take a lot of pride in. They ran well in the Derby, and I am looking for even better efforts when the St Leger comes around.
“Both horses are very talented and even though they may lack the class of Ali Baba and Seeking My Dream, I am happy with their performances and I am very really proud of them.
“Then again, racing is racing, and anything can happen,” admitted trainer Parsard to the Complete Racing Guide.
