Law and fashion designing are not a usual combination. Now meet Stephanie McLean, a lawyer who is now conceptualising an array of glamorous designs for customers, brings high fashion retailers worldwide to one place, and has been nominated among the Jamaica Observer‘s 2015 Moguls in the Making. 

When did it all start? Stephanie, who specialises in real estate law, gave her passion for designing a go with the Mogul in the Making by Stephanie McLean label. She later tried a micro collection called Serengeti, which was marketed online and in Shhh Boutique for selling. This became contagious, one store turned into five and the feedback was tremendous. Stephanie is a global wayfarer who has visited Africa, Asia, and The Middle East among other places and is always on the prowl for unique pieces. “I’d always get asked, where’d you buy that or I am visiting this place, do you have any recommendations” she told

Though Stephanie admits that her main focus right now is to make the Trendy Treats brand a staple, the Columbia University graduate says here legal career is far from over. “Law and I haven’t broken up just yet. There may be a future of just legal practice in the cards for me, but right now I’m most passionate about my start-up.”
