CONCACAF Gold Cup: Boyz clip Haiti 1-0 to book semi-final date with USA
BALTIMORE, Maryland — Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz clipped Haiti 1-0 in their quarter-final encounter to book their spot in the semis of CONCACAF Gold Cup at the M&T Bank Stadium here on Saturday.
Giles Barnes scored the all-important goal in the seventh minute from a well-worked piece of team play.
The Haitians, not to be outdone, have had their threatening moments, but good goalkeeping by Jamaica goalie Ryan Thompson, and at times, crucial defending nullified the danger.
Jamaica will now meet the USA in the semi-finals at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Wednesday.
