CONCACAF Gold Cup: Simon Dawkins replaces Mattocks in Boyz line-up
PHILADELPHIA, USA — Simon Dawkins replaces Darren Mattocks in the starting line-up for this evening’s CONCACAF Gold Cup final at Lincoln Financial Field here.
Mattocks, a starter and goal-scorer in the Reggae Boyz’ historic win over the USA in the semi-final in Atlanta last Wednesday, makes way for his Derby County teammate who was a substitute in the last game.
Jobi McAnuff, who was doubtful after sustaining a cut on the sole of his left foot on Thursday, was nursed back to match readiness and will feature in the left midfield role.
With a few minutes to kick-off, the 69,000 capacity Lincoln Financial Field is almost full, with the Mexican fans outnumbering their Jamaican counterpart at almost incalculable figures.
Jamaica’s starting team: Ryan Thompson, Wes Morgan, Michael Hector, Kemar Lawrence, Adrian Mariappa, Rodolph Austin, Je-Vaughn Watson, Garath McCleary, Jobi McAnuff, Dawkins and Giles Barnes.
