We Chief keeps it fresh
AMERICA-BASED raggatronic collective, We Chief has released their latest single Fresh Lemonade, featuring reggae-dubstep artiste Jahdan Blakkamoore & Captain Planet.
Released July 17, the single is earmarked to be a “summer anthem”.
“We will be amping up promotion of the single for the summer, so listen out for it on a radio station near you,” said Geoffrey Rand, producer and We Chief frontman.
We Chief, launched in 2014, mixes electronic dance music (EDM) with beats from around the world and is influenced heavily by reggae/dancehall.
“This eclectic combination of sounds has led We Chief and it growing tribe to coin the term Raggatronic to describe its sound,” said Rand.
Recently, the group joined the chorus of voices supporting the worldwide legalisation of cannabis with the single Time Fi Legalize, featuring Ragga Twins & Gosteffects.
“It’s a great look, and we love the support we have got from the mix tapes and radio stations Jamaica and from industry players all over the world,” he said.
Rand said the group is set to raise the bar with their live shows which will rival any other on the planet.
“The We Chief live show will bring a new, worldly and creative dimension to dance music performance. It will incorporate beats from around the globe with various forms of EDM, live vocals, captivating visuals, dancing and auxiliary percussion. It will truly bring a unique and engaging feel that is missing in today’s typical DJ performances,” he said.
