Diamond Paints prepares for take-off with export strategy
Diamond Paints Mfg, a local manufacturing company based Waltham Park road has set its sights on growing its export base threefold by the end of this financial year.
And the company is planning to employ more people as soon as its export strategy starts to show success.
The company manufactures paints, Sure Cote Veneer Plaster and Sure Masonry Patch, fillers and other construction finishing products, and has been in operation for more than 25 years.
Warren Newby, head of exports and business development, told the Jamaica Observer that the company has redoubled its efforts to increase its foreign exchange earning potential, through a variety of means, including co-branding and manufacturing for international clients.
The company told the Business Observer that as a result of the increased demand it is now experiencing, it is expanding its productive capacity through an investment of approximately US$800,000 in equipment, which is now at the wharves awaiting clearance.
The principals YP Seaton and Neil Seaton are fully committed to this wave of expansion and are prepared to invest an additional US$2 million in plant upgrade over the next two years.
Newby further stated that the company was confident that the strategies employed were producing very good results, and identified the increased use of indigenous raw materials, particularly limestone, calcium-based products as having a “tremendous effect”on the price efficiency of the goods produced by the company.
Diamond Paints, which joined the prestigious US Million Dollar Club at the Jamaica Exporters Association in 2010, is reporting substantial growth in its sales to the Caribbean, Central America and North America.
