VIDEO: Lunchtime at BUZO

Ladies with time on their hands and stylish inclinations reserve tables at the award-winning Buzo Osteria Italiana. Thursday Life is no exception…

The heavy afternoon downpour, a hurried entrance inside — hair thankfully still dry — securing a great table inside Buzo are all fond memories of our recent dining experience.

The brick exterior — a homage we reckon to the traditional brick Italian pizza ovens — opens into a chic interior where old-world tradition (there are brick walls inside too) meets modern glam: mod lighting and table tops, eclectic vases of flowers and jars of Buzo condiments.

It’s difficult not to gush at the sight of the Table Talk Food Awards plaques that line the walls. There’s buona fortuna! Chef/Patron Cristian Grini is at the restaurant. It’s been a busy year for him, but thankfully, Buzo Barbados is now opened and he’s here at the flagship ensuring that all is well. It is and we’re lunching with Meiling.

Still or sparkling water is offered, straight from the oven bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil are elegantly placed and the discreet service commences… Hmmm service is still king at Buzo…
