The Great Escape
Sound the fashion trumpet! The Deiwght Peters-led Saint International modelling agency, cresting a wave of audacious success in 2015 for its roster of models — with a checklist of ad campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, River Island and Topshop; fashion editorials in top-tier mags Vogue, W, and Vogue Hommes; international runway struts for a raft of designers including Prada, Valentino, Emporio Armani, Public School, Calvin Klein — took a caravan journey to the Halse Hall Great House for a billed ‘Clarendon Fashion Escape’ last Sunday.
It was a homecoming for Peters, a son of the Clarendon soil, who, to those familiar with the accomplished modelmaker, is wont to boast of his alma mater Glenmuir High School. His Sunday evening Saint-produced fashion showcase (the second such staging after a 2012 debut in the parish) was sponsored by Campari and sent 10 designer collections down the catwalk, with menswear and womenswear creations from Cecilia Devana, Kadian Nicely, Nina, HOD, Neahlis, Andre Shirley, T&T Fashion, Kurt Campbell and Spokes Apparel, swim- and beachwear by Delesa Martin.
Also on the line-up was accessories designer Iela who showcased her line of leather, calabash and bamboo, coconut shell, and non-edible seeds as embellishments, as well as encore selections from the Avant Garde Designer of the Year competition held back in March alongside Saint’s Fashion Face finals.
Performances from dancehall neophyte Vershon and songbird Berri added a musical element to the visual feast backdropped by the centuries-old manor.
SO goes front-row…
