Gospel and jazz in the gardens
THE Jazz in the Gardens series takes on a gospel twist this Sunday at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel.
The fourth in the series of successful concerts, ‘Gospel ‘N’ Jazz’, will see a mix of performers. The line-up includes former member of the world renowned I-Three Judy Mowatt; pianist Dennis Rushton; reggae artiste Winsome Benjamin; gospel vocalists Camelia ‘Candy’ Isaacs, Venicca Nicholson, and gospel minister Jabez.
Desi Jones and Friends will provide musical backing for the performers.
As always, part proceeds from the event will go to the Best Care Foundation and Elsie Bernard Home for Girls.
The Best Care Foundation is a privately run institution which was established in 1976 and caters to mentally challenged children and young adults from age 4 to 21. The Elsie Bernard Home for Girls, is a privately run home established in 1979. It provides temporary shelter for girls between the ages of 12 to 18 and who are in need of care and protection and who were not involved in violent crimes.
