OUR READERS HAVE THEIR SAY ON WORLD CHAMPS

OBSERVER online readers were active with their comments during the recently held World Championships in Beijing, China.

COMMENTS ON DANIELLE WILLIAMS

Tellditruth

Congratulations Miss D Williams !

Just keep training and focused, and you will be like Shelly “The Pocket Rocket “, unstoppable in your event!

CHUCK EMMANUEL the FIRST

Excellent achievement.

4X400M WOMEN

RiddleMeThat

Arguably the race of the Championship…BIG UP ladies…BIG UP JA…!!!!!

Sinthia

I have watched the video of this race over and over again and will never tire of watching it. You four ladies made us very proud. Just loved the last 50 or so metres when the commentator shouted “The Jamaican is coming!” And come she did. Great stuff ladies!

jaexposed

Very pleased. Congratulations!

Sranksmusic

fantastic exciting race …fantastic performance….well done Novlene to overcome the deficit after an unbelievable leg by Alison Felix….thanks to all the girls for a superb effort ….. what a great win for Jamaica!!!!

Chapter1

Yes , Christine gave us a very solid start , Shericka built on it and add likkle brawta . Stephanie McPherson usually nuh watch people and , when challenged by Felix , so what ? She still made sure Novlene nevah haffi climb out of a hole . What a finish Novlene!

Colin

Fantastic! Congratulations to the team on what was a great race! That final leg was a thing of beauty!!!

Ann Hudson

Proud of you girls… great, great job.

masrog

Very proud of you ladies. Was nervous for you but you were as cool as the other side of the pillow. Shericka, I saw you coming from that famous run at Gibson relay several years ago. Your determination never wane. Stay strong and hungry and you will be atop the podium soon.

ASAFA POWELL

andrea anderson

Say bless

“STIPULATED”

Good team player, well done..!

guest

I think he ran a superb second leg after a delay in the exchange. He made a nice cut into Gatlin’s lead and that as you know is not easy to do.

Jonny Woodburn

Big respect everytime Asafa, I know you are super comfortable when surrounded in the arms of the “team” and have never let us down in a relay, ever. Although your problem is never a physical one in the individual runs, you still try your best. God bless you youth. Respect.

Doug

Asafa Powell is a lesson in fan frustration and irony. When the consequences of relay mishap is greater i.e you cause the entire team to lose, Asafa excels. When the pressure is lessened on an individual level, he falters.

pinkwhiz Doug

….and it is important to recognise where we stand, whether as an individual in getting the job done, or as a team player in getting the job done.

pinkwhiz

That’s my Asafa……always a team player!!! Has never let the team done and will do his best so the team can achieve the very best, the very top!!!

Sean S

Asafa may not have gotten the Gold in the individual event, However, he gets a Gold for this statement;

“”If they want me to run the third leg I will do it, start leg, it’s the team and we have to work together the best way to make it work.”

Marjorie Crawford-Dunn

He did his thing – congrats bro.

tyroneosborne

Maybe Powell has 3 relay Gold medals ; remember he got one running the last leg at the Olympics in 2008 , then again in Germany in 2009 and this one in the Bird’s nest again , even if his baton exchange was horrible . Of course, Jamaica may have others , even a fit Yohan Blake for Rio . We still thank Asafa for all he did for Jamaica ; only a pity he did not hold up when running just the flat 100 .

yardie954 tyroneosborne

the 100m was a beastly race…..too bad ‘The Beast’ himself wasn’t on the track.
