Woman arrested for allegedly releasing nude pics of ex’s girlfriend
A young woman was last week hauled before the court for reportedly publicising nude photographs of her ex-lover’s girlfriend after she took away the phone from her ex.
Shanika Grandison, a 21-year-old student of East Road in Kingston is facing charges of unlawful access to data and obscene publication.
According to the police report, the complainant reportedly loaned one of her cellular phones to her boyfriend while his phone was being repaired.
However, it was reported that Grandison went to the complainant’s boyfriend’s house, took up the phone that the complainant had loaned her boyfriend and an argument developed.
Grandison reportedly refused to give back the phone and the man took her phone and threw it into the wall damaging it, as she held on to the complainant’s phone.
It further reported that Grandison then used the phone to call and send text messages to the complainant and subsequently sent nude photographs of the complainant to several people including her friends.
The complainant was reportedly sent nude photographs of herself and reported the matter and Grandison was arrested and charged.
On Tuesday when the matter was mentioned, the court heard that the cybercrime report was outstanding and Grandison’s bail was extended.
She is to return to court November 3.
